In my Florida divorce case, does the mediator meet with the spouses separately or together?

In Florida, the mediator can choose to meet with the spouses together or separately. When I was trained as a mediator we met together, however, what I've seen more often is that mediators will meet separately, especially if there's reasons to meet separately. For instance, if there's been any domestic violence, or if there's intimidation, or anything that would prevent a smooth and agreeable meeting then they would meet individually.
