What about custody, time-sharing and visitation?

Custody and visitation in Florida refer to two separate things. Custody is where the child spends the majority of the time, whereas visitation, is the time that the noncustodial parent can spend with the child. These issues are determined initially by the parents themselves because they know what's best for their child. However, when the parents can't agree on a custody or visitation schedule that fits their needs, then the court will need to decide. Both parties will have an opportunity to present their evidence and their arguments to the court and ultimately, the judge will decide the custody and visitation issues.
