How does joint custody/time-sharing work in Florida?

In Florida, joint custody and joint time sharing is basically equal time with the child. The mom spends as much time with the child as dad and that can take various forms, schedules. One common form is a week with dad and then a week with mom and they can exchange over the weekend or at school. Another common joint custody schedule is maybe Monday and Tuesday with one parent and then Wednesday and Thursday with the other parent then they rotate the weekends. The more significant issue is to ensure that the parents live close enough to each other geographically to make sure that that type of a schedule would really work practically for the child.
