Helping parents with various issues involving their children
Bill Beck Law can answer any questions you may have regarding the issues that involve your children. We understand that, as parents, the care of your children is important to you. Whether that care is financial or involves spending quality time with your kids, our firm can help you find a favorable outcome. Our attorneys provide legal representation in the following:
- Child support: Child support is determined using statutory guidelines that consider the gross income of the parents, financial needs of the children and time spent with the children.
- Child custody and visitation: During divorce proceedings, or once paternity is established if the couple is unmarried, a parenting plan is set in place. This parenting plan establishes the child's primary residence and the visitation schedule. Our firm strives to obtain arrangements that allow the children to have a relationship with each parent.
Paternity: When a couple is not married, there is no presumption of who the father is. Paternity actions establish parental rights and allow for child support and visitation to be enforceable. Our firm handles paternity actions to establish paternity through DNA testing and blood testing.- Relocation: When a custodial parent wants to relocate to another geographical area, one of two actions must happen. Either the noncustodial parent must give consent or a court order must be given based on motions to relocate. Generally, visitation is also modified.
- Modification: Parents can seek to modify a court order when there has been a substantial change in circumstances. Items that can be modified include child support and child custody. Changes in circumstances can be financial, such as job loss or increase in income.
- Enforcement: Our firm represents people who are seeking enforcement orders and those who have enforcement orders brought against them. Enforcement involves one party not abiding by the terms of the agreement and is generally related to child support.
