James J. Wimsatt Esq.

Palm Harbor, Florida

Integrity.  Responsibility.  Competence.  Personal touch.

These are values Jim’s parents taught him from his earliest days.  Jim grew up in a large family in Kentucky, where he was surrounded by examples of how to lead a good life.

Some of Jim’s earliest memories are of his parents instilling within him a sense of responsibility and moral obligation to both family and community.  Part of that was to always help those that you could.  This sense of responsibility manifested itself at an early age in his mission trip to Central America, and later in his work organizing volunteers for political campaigns.  Throughout it all, Jim has always tried to emulate his father and mother and their absolute devotion to their community and family.

Growing up in a large family of eight sisters and four brothers helped Jim learn how to work with differing personalities who often had different plans and different goals.  He learned that although at times it may seem we’re going in thirteen different directions, family is at the heart of it all and always brings it back together.

Jim attended Centre College, in Danville, Kentucky where he graduated with a degree in International Relations and Spanish.  He then graduated law school at Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C., one of the top law schools in the nation.  Throughout it all, Jim never forgot the lessons taught to him by his father and mother, sisters and brothers.

Today, Jim works exclusively for families to address their legal needs, no matter what those needs are.  The sense of obligation instilled by his family demands the upmost integrity, responsiveness and professionalism.

Jim also believes that absolute honesty with clients is paramount.  A personal relationship with each and every one of his clients is something Jim values.  Such relationships help Jim understand his clients’ needs and their wants.  It also helps Jim communicate honestly with his clients.  Bad news doesn’t get better with time.  Jim will always be upfront and forthright with his evaluation of your case.  He has never shied away from informing a client that their claim, for whatever reason, may not meet the applicable legal standards.  That said, Jim is always looking for creative ways in which to apply the law and loves a challenge.
